Vanliga frågor
SAN or NAS — which do we need?
If people open files from it, you want NAS. If servers boot from it or a database lives on it, you want SAN. Many organisations run both, and the same team manages either.
Can this replace our existing array without downtime?
Usually yes. Migration is planned during the design phase and typically runs alongside the existing array, cutting over during an agreed maintenance window.
Is Fibre Channel necessary?
Not for most workloads. iSCSI over a properly configured 10 GbE network covers the majority of cases; Fibre Channel makes sense where you already have the fabric or need to isolate storage traffic completely.
